The South Sound Estuary Association is opening the area’s newest marine science center this Thursday, July 11 in Olympia. Named the South Sound Estuarium, this center will be open Thursdays through Sundays through August 25 and feature a saltwater aquarium, interpretive exhibits and video programming. This center’s goal is “to be a place where children and adults can learn about the south Puget Sound environment, including its estuaries, geology, natural and cultural history, marine life and human impact on the Puget Sound” according to Diana Larson-Mills, the association’s acting executive director.
