1. An Electrical Panel Upgrade (The One Everything Else Depends On)
Your electrical panel is the heart of the whole system. It decides how much power your home can safely handle at once. Many older homes around Olympia still run on 100-amp panels, which were plenty when the biggest load in the house was the oven.
It is not plenty anymore. Add an EV charger, a heat pump, or a modern kitchen, and that old panel runs out of headroom fast.

2. An EV Charging Station Installed for Daily Use
Plugging your car into a standard outlet works, technically. It also takes a day or two to fill the battery. A Level 2 charging station charges most EVs overnight, which is how the car becomes something you never think about instead of something you plan around.
A Level 2 charger needs its own dedicated 240-volt circuit, and in an older home, that circuit often does not exist yet. Sometimes the panel has room for it. Sometimes it does not, which is why the panel conversation usually comes first.
