What Is a Ductless Master Installer?

Most people never look too closely at an HVAC system. Much of it is hidden behind walls, in basements, or outside of a building. Despite not being highly visible in a home or workplace, the HVAC system is a cornerstone of modern indoor life. Without it, people couldn’t keep cool in the summer and warm during the winter.

An HVAC system is also an enormously complex, comprehensive building system. And when it comes to HVAC solutions like ductless heating systems, it takes a lot of expertise to assess a space, provide solutions, and install it in right. That’s why ductless systems should always be installed by professionals, but if you want to go one step further and get some real peace of mind, you should find yourself a Ductless Master Installer. But what makes a Ductless Master Installer different from any other HVAC professional?

Ductless Master Installers Are a Cut Above

As the name implies, a Ductless Master Installer is someone who has gone above and beyond competency in ductless installation to a higher level of quality and expertise. A high minimum level of performance and quality has been set for people to qualify for Master Installer status and the official certification granted with it.

So, an HVAC company can’t just call themselves Ductless Master Installers and call it a day. There are an orientation and classes that need to be attended first. Candidates must also present a proven track record of excellence and receive an evaluation. If all these criteria are met, only then will the title and documentation be awarded.

Master Installers Have Lots of Experience with Ductless Systems

When you see a company with the Master Installer title, its staff have installed many ductless heating and cooling systems. Every HVAC expert at that company will hold that Master Installer status as well. A minimum of 25 installations must be on record before an application can even be considered. At least 15 of those installations must be utility-rebate installations, and all of this must have occurred within a three-year period.

Also, installers applying must be able to show that they have satisfied customers, with verifiable testimony and photos that illustrate the quality of work to show they adhere to Master Installer standards. Even after all that, once the title is granted, things aren’t necessarily over. Inspections are conducted to ensure installers stick to those standards, and if it’s found they’ve lapsed in their work, Master status can be revoked.
